Diane Eve Warren, an American songwriter, once as a rebellious teenager ran away from home. But she missed her cat and returned. Her father encouraged her song-writing early and as a tribute to him she composed “Because You Loved Me,” a song made famous by Celine Dion. Among Warren’s other well-known songs are, “If I Could Turn Back Time,” as recorded by Cher in 1989, and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” as recorded by Aerosmith for the soundtrack of the 1998 movie Armageddon. Warren has been nominated for seven Grammys, six Academy Awards, five Golden Globes, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2001, the National Academy of Popular Music inducted her into its Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her songs have elements of pop, country, rock, rhythm & blues, and more.
