Editorial standards
JustSheetMusic helps players find works and compare available sheet music editions. Our catalog combines imported supplier records, archive references and editorial guidance. These sources have different strengths, and a catalog listing is not a guarantee of current stock.
Work, arrangement and edition
A work is the underlying composition. An arrangement adapts it for a particular line-up or playing level. An edition is a published realization with its own editor, format and included material. Where records allow, we bring versions together under a work and link that work to its composer, instruments and songbooks.
Evidence and missing information
Dates, biographical details and historical claims should have a traceable source. Composer profiles identify their available biographical and image sources; editorial guides cite relevant publishers and archives. We do not treat a recording release date as a composition date, infer a playing grade from a title, or expand an unexplained catalog code into a claimed fact.
Some legacy records are incomplete. Missing prices and dates remain missing. A historical price is not a quote for a purchase today. Check the supplier’s page for its current terms, contents and availability.
Useful pages, without padding
Our priority is information that helps someone identify, choose or play the right score. A repertoire list can be useful without a long essay. We do not add generic biographies or repeated paragraphs simply to reach a word count. Sparse records remain accessible where useful for navigation, but do not all qualify for search indexing.
