Vivaldi wrote around five hundred concerti and the catalogue is full of them, along with a substantial body of sacred vocal music that has only been widely performed since the middle of the twentieth century.
The Four Seasons accounts for a large share of what people actually buy, and it exists in every form from full orchestral parts to a simplified violin-and-piano arrangement for a second-year student. They are not remotely the same purchase. The Gloria is the other work choirs return to constantly and is published in several editions that differ in their continuo realisations.
Works are numbered by RV (Ryom), and older editions use Op. numbers or F. numbers instead, so the same concerto appears under several identifiers. Where a listing gives an RV number, that is the one to trust.
