Evanescence is a gothic rock band hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas. Formed by sexy leading lady Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody, the band distributed two EPâs amongst their small audiences from 1995 up until 2001.
They were soon joined by three additional members: John LeCompt, Rocky Gray, and Will Boyd. Together they released the well-renowned album âFallenâ in mid-2003. This compilation contained hits such as âBring Me to Lifeâ and âMy Immortalâ. It sold 15 million copies worldwide, won the band 2 Grammy Awards, and stayed on Billboardâs Top 10 list for an astonishing 43 weeks.
Various members of the band resigned for different reasons, and Amy Lee soon enlisted Terry Balsamo from Cold, Tim McCord, and Will Hunt to continue on in hopes of stardom. Their dreams were achieved after releasing a second studio album, âThe Open Doorâ in 2006. It sold 5 million copies worldwide, and boasted the hit single âCall Me When Youâre Soberâ, inspired by Amy Leeâs difficult breakup with Seetherâs lead vocalist Shaun Morgan.
