Biography

Hugo Distler was born in Neurenberg, Germany. He was one of the important composers who renewed the Lutheranism church music. After he was rejected 3 times at the conservatory he moved to Leipzig for his study. Just before he finished his study he was offered a job as church musician in Lübeck, Germany.
