Biography

Jackson was an American phenomenon, and a global icon as a singer-songwriter. He was also a choreographer, dancer, businessman and philanthropist. His most famous dance steps were the robot and the moonwalk. Jackson’s distinguished sound and style has influenced hip hop, post-disco, contemporary R&B, pop, and rock artists. He possessed all the skills to dominate the charts seemingly at will: an instantly identifiable voice, eye-popping dance moves, stunning musical versatility and loads of sheer star power. His albums included Got To Be There, Ben, Music and Me, Forever Michael, Invincible, Blood On The Dance Floor, HIStory, Dangerous, Bad, Thriller and Off The Wall. He died at a rented mansion in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles, California, while preparing for a concert tour that was to be called “This Is It.” The tour was to include performances in London, Paris and Mumbai. His sudden death created a great outpouring of grief, expressed in 21st century fashion at the rate of 5,000 tweets per minute.
